Chris Mavergames is Head of Cochrane’s Informatics and Knowledge Management Department (IKMD), and has been working on Cochrane web and technology projects since 2006. In his latest post for the Cochrane Blog, Chris updates on current work and future plans in the areas of technology and innovation within and outside Cochrane.
Technology has always been an integral part of Cochrane efforts to make systematically reviewed health evidence available to the widest possible audience. The world in which Cochrane operates has become increasingly sophisticated in leveraging existing and emerging technologies and Cochrane, proud of its longstanding reputation as an innovator, is exploring “the future of review production”. This is a broad remit, encompassing linked data technologies, new paradigms in online collaboration, and other technology and knowledge management options to move evidence synthesis and dissemination forward.
